ISO 26000 is an extremely useful guide which sets out the basic principles on which the social responsibility of all organizations must be based.
However, this standard contains no provisions for determining the minimum requirements for the practical implementation of the principles of social responsibility and it cannot be certified by organizations that are prepared to demonstrate compliance with these principles.
IQNet SR 10 is an international specification developed by IQNet Association and its partners which is designed to integrate social responsibility into organizations’ business strategies and communicate achievements obtained through certification.
This tool is extremely useful for organizations wishing to go beyond the “generation of employment and wealth creation” to also develop sustainably, from focusing on the customer to focusing on their stakeholders and interested parties, and from simply designing and implementing social responsibility plans which are independent of other business policies to developing strategies to integrate social responsibility into the overall strategy of their organization.
